No, you can book your hotel in Las Vegas on your own, but you should know that NATPE is holding the majority of rooms at the four hotels nearest the Mandalay Bay Convention Center: Mandalay Bay, THEhotel, Luxor and Excalibur -- and these rooms are being offered through the NATPE Housing Service at a special NATPE rate. And keep in mind that January is a very busy time of year for conventions in Las Vegas, so you may have difficulty booking other hotels, too.
